Jesca Lakeview Bed and Breakfast (The Cheapest accommodation)

Updated: August 2016

Recently, I decided and went to Jesca to update this blog. I tried to call the Jesca using the number as indicated as below:

Both tel and cell no. are working but no one answering the calls. So I decided to go directly to the place.

And luckily, there is a guest that have been checkout during that day so there is someone going to assist us. Ms Amie is the temporary care taker. As I told her that I calling earlier to check and reserve for a room. She replied, that Rose is not the care taker of the Jesca anymore. Might the owner is busy or not on the house when I called on the Phone.

Phone indicated above (046) 413-0711, still working. You can call for reservation on the said number. But as of now, since there is no permanent care taker on the place, you can call in the morning around 8am to 10am or in the evening around 5pm-10pm, or you can directly go to the place around those time to check personally the place and deal with the price with the owner itself.

To experience again the Jesca, we booked the room for 2 pax for Php 1200. Still the cheapest I think so far. As far as the room concern, since there is no care taker, you can see that the surrounding is not quite maintained.

10 Things To Do in Palawan

There are many things to do in Palawan. Let us set aside the El Nido and Coron, let us focus on Puerto Princesa.

Here are some of the Must-Visit and Must-Do while you are in P.P.S

1. Underground River Tour

The Puerto Princesa Subterranean River National Park is located about 50 km north of the city of Puerto Princesa, Palawan, Philippines. It features a limestone karst mountain landscape with an 8.2 km. navigable underground river. A distinguishing feature of the river is that it winds through a cave before flowing directly into the South China Sea. It includes major formations of stalactites and stalagmites, and several large chambers. The lower portion of the river is subject to tidal influences. The underground river is reputed to be the world’s longest. At the mouth of the cave, a clear lagoon is framed by ancient trees growing right to the water’s edge. Monkeys, large monitor lizards, and squirrels find their niche on the beach near the cave.

2. Honda Bay Tour

Doing some island hopping is a must not only for Coron or El Nido if you are in Palawan. Island hopping is also a must do in Puerto Princesa Palawan. 45 mins towards north from the city Proper you could reach the Honda Bay.

3. Firefly watching tour

Experience 30-45 mins of serene and romantic boat tour at the Iwahig River in Puerto Princesa city while watching those enchanting fireflies.

4. Baker's Hill

One of the most popular spots and also one of the best Pasalubong store in Town is the "Baker's Hill" here in Palawan.

5. Noki Nocs

Serves the best halo halo in town. Ice crushes so fine and sweetness is just enough to taste. 5-stars for the halo-halo. They also serves some dishes and menu like Pizza, burger and Sizzling.

6. Cathedral

The Immaculate Conception Cathedral in Puerto Princesa is located along the Rizal Avenue, Barangay Liwanag. If you happened to dine at Noki Nocs, you can see the Cathedral from here. This historical landmark celebrated the first mass in Puerto Princesa in 1872 where a Spanish expedition proclaimed the Immaculate Conception of Mary as the Patroness of Puerto Princesa.

This is included in the City tour package but this is one trike away if you already in the city. This bluish colored cathedral will remind you the Spanish era. And yes, as per local it was built during those time.

7. Baywalk

If Manila has Manila Bay, then Palawan has also its own baywalk. 10-15mins walk from China town mall or 1-trike away for 10 Pesos each you can reach the Baywalk. A long stretch of promenade and well paved walkway, where you can enjoy Biking, Running/Jogging, or Just walking or playing around. There are several food stalls and souvenir stall that you can enjoy. Must visit if you would like to just relax while  having fun.

8. Karst Mountain (Elephant Cave) / Mount Cleopatra's Needle

You can't reach the mountain itself but there is a spot where the tourist can view the mountain.
Karst Mountain/Elephant Cave was include in one of the pit stop of the high rating reality tv show "The Amazing Race Philippines" and "The Amazing Race Ukraine".

The Cleopatra's Needle is considered one of the mystical mountains of Palawan. The name came from the obelisk-like rock structure that is found in its peak.

If you will take the Underground Tour, then you can ask the driver to visit these two spots. 3-5 mins is enough taking pictures here.

9. China Town Center Mall

This newly-built mall located at Valencia St. Bgy. Tagumpay, 5300 Puerto Princesa, provides variety of goods from wet to dry. And also provides different restaurant for dining that you can choose from if the popular resto has been fully-book.

10. Unitop Mall

Aside from China town center mall, Unitop Shopping Mall also has wide-variety of goods that is so cheap. If so happen that you missed something from your checklist baggage (must-bring during vacation like shirts, sleepers, undies, etc.), you can check and buy here.
