Must try desert in Boracay!

There is always a long line here, the store of Halowich in DMall, so I wondered why. When we got in the E'mall in station 3 to buy some souvenir, we spotted another store of Halowich and thankfully they offered buy 1 take 1. (hahahaha). So we grab the chance to try. We ordered Lemon Monday and Pine-apple Wednesday. The ice cream was superb with the combination of Vanilla and Mango, then the fresh fruits gives us refreshing feeling since it was a hot late afternoon that time.

If you love eating halo halo, try this one. A halo halo with a twist! Fresh fruits topped with ice cream. These desert are well known by the Korean tourist in Boracay. You can also tried their sandwich halo halo. I’ve no other comment aside from I love this desert. Definitely, it’s a must try!

Tans Guesthouse.. Cheapest/Affordable accommodation in Boracay!

One of the main issues when having a vacation in Boracay is to find a nice and affordable hotel for your stay. Looking for the right hotel, taking consideration of course the location and price. So, we chose to book a hotel/guesthouse located at the Station 2 near the beach. So I remembered, sometime in 2014 we already enjoyed our vacation in Boracay at the Tans Guesthouse. Tan is near the beach approx. 5-min walk. It has also affordable rate to the fact that it is located at Station 2.

So after looking back from 2014, we decided to book again in the same hotel. We asked for the accommodation quotation and we are not disappointed. We quoted four (4) rooms and the price as follow:
ROOM #
ROOM DESCRIPTION
NO. OF PAX
RATE/NIGHT
TANS 2
DELUXE DOUBLE
4
2,000.00
TANS 7
DELUXE DOUBLE
4
2,000.00
TANS 8
FAMILY W/ KITCHEN
4
2,500.00
TANS 12
FAMILY ROOM W/ VERANDA
6
3,000.00

We booked during off season, that’s why we availed their off season price (promo). As what we had in our accommodation and its price, I could say that this hotel/guesthouse has the more affordable than others located in station 2. But there was unexpected event happened 2 weeks before our vacation and we need to cancel one room. And I immediately asked for it. To my surprised, they not further questioned me for that and just send me the new quotation and confirmation letter since I already deposited the half.

So much for the accommodation, now the day had come and we could see the real visual (actual) appearance of the rooms not just in pictures. And yes, Tans never disappointed us. Aside from the short noticed, that one of the room has a water leaked in the ceiling, so must be moved, we did agreed provided that we can still use the kitchen.
Tans 10 and Tans 12 were spacious and big enough for the allotted number of pax.  But the veranda in Tans 12 was small as I was thought. Tans 8 was not available so we used in front room of it so that we can still use the Kitchen. Kitchen was spacious and had complete utensils.

Overall, the guesthouse was nice, comfy and some rooms are spacious enough. Kitchen is awesome, but you need to provide your own dish washing liquid. Toiletries were incomplete, it was just soap and tissue. And if you staying for longer, you need to ask the staff to clean the room after 2 nigths and only allowed when there’s someone in the room for security of your belongings.

Dine in a "Kubo"! New found resto bar in Tagaytay!

While updating my blog about the Jesca, of course we need to find a new place to eat a good and tasty bulalo aside from Leslie, since bulalo is known main dish of Tagaytay. And we did found a resto along E. Aguinaldo Highway near the Walter Mart (Serin Ayala Mall).

At the Entrance
At the entrance, there is a green&white covered resto, but what my eyes caught was the "Kubo" (Nipa hut) inside the place. We got more curious inside, so we entered. At my surprised, you will be welcomed by different staffs and ask you to dine in their respective resto. So it came to my knowledge that this place is something like a food hub. It was great, because you have an option to choose from, they offers different "Gimik". One resto offers live band, the other offers loud and disco music and the other offers the table inside kubo. But the dilemma is which of this resto will offer a good and much better bulalo since this is what we've looking for.

Resto environment
Its about 2min talked with my buddy on which resto we're going to dine. Finally, we decided to dine at "Bradley's Grill Bulalohan & Crispy Tawilis". You know why? Hahaha. I don't know either, maybe they offered a table inside the Nipa Hut first (yes, there are other Resto that offers table inside the Kubo also) and it seems giving a feeling of privacy. Aside from that, the view from the Kubo is amazing. You can see the view of Taal lake from here even though it was dark back then since it was dinner it was still amazing view of lights sparkling all over the place near the taal lake. Even though one of the Resto(s) near the Bradley offers a loud and disco sound music, don't be curios, you can also hear the loud music from here.

So its time to judge their meal. We ordered their "Special bulalo". What my excitement got higher was the warmer, yes! the warmer that came along in served with the bulalo, keeping the soup/dish warm while we took any single bite of the bulalo. The smell was so great and alluring. The dish was made with completed ingredient from the vegetable to spices and of course you can ask the staff for the condiments (sili (chili), calamansi, soy sauce, etc.). The meat for me was soft and tender easy to chew. The soup was tasty aside from being greasy because of the oil/fat of the beef. And yes, overall it was a yummy and tasty bulalo. We ordered also their grilled T-bone Steak but it was salty. Anyway, we are here for the bulalo.

Overall, we found a new place that offers a great bulalo and I think it was affordable. The serving was good for 4 persons (big servings) and just for less than Php 500.  And if so happened you'll going to dine here, order also their 6+1 bucket beer. This will heat your body from the cool environment. Try yourself here and feel free to comment your experience in the comment section. Thank you for reading my blog.
